Barcelona presents its candidacy as new home for the European Medicines Agency

More than 300 people participated in an event coordinated by Barcelona Global yesterday at the Faculty of Medicine of the Universitat de Barcelona to support the initiative of the Spanish government, the Generalitat and Barcelona City Council. Prof. Pablo Ordejón, director of the ICN2, attended the event and signed a manifesto in support of Barcelona's candidacy as the future home of the European Medicines Agency (EMA).

Barcelona has the scientific capacity and infrastructures necessary to host the agency and its talent. As stated in the manifesto, “Barcelona is ready and confident that it has the energy, determination and conditions to guarantee the best possible relocation for the agency’s activities, its employees and their families”.

The manifesto expresses full support for the EMA candidacy presented by the Spanish government and has already been signed by over 200 entities, including the ICN2. Watch the video in support of the #BCN4EMA campaign and consider joining this initiative.
